Went to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine....

Gambit
And while watching it, I kept thinking of all the people who bitched, and then I thought of Yahtzee's quote:

Fans are clingy, complaining dipshits who are never, ever be greatful for any concession you make. The moment you shut out their shrill, tremorous voices, the happier you'll be for it.

Because I honestly thought it wasn't half bad. Yes they took alot of liberties with the characters, and formed it into something different from the comics. But here's the thing, the X-Men movies already did that long before this movie. Take it for what it is, a continuation of the X-Men movies, ignore the bad CGI, look at Gambit's ass, have a nice day. I don't understand how a deviation from the main story is okay with fans when they do it in the comic books, be it your alternate universe or different publisher with the rights, but it's not acceptable on the big screen. I don't understand this double standard people have.

I have a feeling I will be using Yahtzee's quote again in a month, when Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen comes out.

Well, I wanted to see it but the nay sayers turned my off from it. Even people who don't even know the comic book history said rent it. Same thing with the Star Trek movie.

Like Yahtzee said... fans are clingy dipshits. LOL.

I never listen to other people's opinions on movies (well, maybe when they tell me it's freakin' awesome). I like to watch a movie for myself and decide if I like it. After all, A LOT of my most favorite movies are all ones that other people called pieces of shit & the like (namely, a large amount of them being from the 80s and early 90s, just to give you an idea). And this here is one fan who ain't no clingy dipshit. Sure, I love a movie to follow the subject matter of what it's based on (books, comics, manga, anime, etc.). But if it's a little different, it doesn't bug me. Often I've enjoyed seeing how people have interpreted their material - esp. if clever (for example, I enjoy how the Harry Potter books have had their stories changed; only thing that wasn't so great was with the 5th tale leaving out a big chunk of important stuff, but it still turned out to be okay).

I tend to tune out Dinger more than ever now, because he's getting REALLY bad this year. Between this movie and Transformers, the RAGE IS ON!

My one complaint about Wolverine is why the costume people couldn't afford a $1000.00 (?) pair of full eye contacts for Gambit. I've seen Hollow Ichigo contacts so I know they can be done, I dunno myself. Maybe it's laziness.

Movies are best watched without reading reviews or watching commercials. Sure, you may do these things afterward and realize it wasn't actually a very good movie, but you'll always have that moment of happiness while it's running.

The Wolverine movie was as good as I had hoped, and this is from a three-issues-a-week comic buyer. Also, Star Trek was good too.
